The Worlds Ugliest Squirrell Art Glass Nut Bowl
The Squirrel That Melted The Rainbow.
Once upon a time there was a little squirrel named Splotch. He was a quiet squirrel, always reading and keeping to himself.

He wasn't like the other squirrels. He never liked eating his nuts, instead he found a fondness for fortune cookies. Each one gave him new insight into his future.

The other animals, especially the brightly colored beautiful butterflies would laugh at him and tease him for being boring.
You're just a plain old squirrel they'd say. You'll never amount to anything with your boring brown fur and love of literature!"

But splotch had other plans. He wanted to Dance. He read books about dancers, so beautiful and graceful. "But" he always told himself "no one wants to see a boring brown squirrel dance."

One Hot Hot day in the middle of summer Splotch was standing at the edge of a reflecting pool looking at himself in the water. "I'll never be a dancer' he thought to himself "I'm just too plain and boring"
He saw the reflection of a rainbow in the water and looking up saw the most beautiful rainbow ever arcing across the sky.

He stood there for a long time pondering the beauty of the rainbow and how much he'd love to be as stunningly beautiful as the multi colored wonder in the sky. He was so intent on his thoughts that he didn't notice how hot the day had become. The sun rose higher in the sky beating down it's hot hot rays on his back.
As he watched the sun crest over the top of the rainbow he noticed an unusual phenomenon. The Rainbow started melting!

It oozed slowly down the sky and over the land, coloring everything in it's path. Splotch was so mezmerized by this event that he was rooted to the spot as the rainbow fell across the reflecting pool and over him.
As the sky returned to normal Splotch looked back down at the pool.
"Oh my goodness" He cried "I've been painted by the rainbow!!!!!"

Splotch went on to become a famous dancer on Broadway, under a stage name of course which is why you've never heard of him.
When he retired he returned to his rainbow reflecting pool, quit the fortune cookies and decided "I like nuts".
