Little Sprout was walking with his Daddy the famous Giant and wondering where Little Sprout's Momma was, when Daddy Giant suddenly said "Oh my Little Sprout. I forgot to tell Momma where to meet us. I hope she can find the way!"
But it was too late, Momma was already lost deep in the thick woods. "What do we do?" Little Sprout questioned out-loud. Daddy Giant said they had better start looking for her, They searched high and low, calling out for her.

But only a very unusual crow sitting on a stump nearby seemed to hear. It looked very ragged with some of it.'s very unusual deep navy blue feathers missing His remaining feathers didn't look like the normal Crow feathers at all, but more like stiff strands of some kind of fiber, Little Sprout thought to himself that it was a very strange bird and certainly looked as if he had encountered an unhappy occurrence with his feathers stuck out here and there and so many missing
As they drew closer it seemed to get a second wind, and with a determined look in its eyes, made a loud Caw Caw and flew away toward the center of the deep dark woods .
It was growing dark, and Sprout was growing scared. Where oh where can his Momma be.
Remembering how she had looked so pretty that morning as she put on her lovely green hat that she had worn since the day she and Daddy Giant got married. It was a special hat made by Lynn Brooke, a very well known ladies hat maker. He hoped she was safe
Daddy Giant was thinking at the same time, "Boy am I in trouble, she wields a mean umbrella when she's upset"

As they headed deeper into the woods looking for Momma Giant, they heard the crow cawing in the distance. Nearing the center of the deep dark woods they suddenly heard the Crow give a single loud "CAW!" then silence. Running toward the sound they came upon a clearing. There standing in the middle was Momma Giant, clutching at her hat tightly as she brandished her umbrella that she always carried (Because a rain might come on suddenly, and you always need to be prepared)
Nearby was the bedraggled Crow looking even more bedraggled than before. He was rubbing his head with a stunned look.

Mamma Sprout brandished her umbrella at the Crow one more time yelling that "My hat will NOT make a good nest you weird feathered scoundrel"

Daddy Giant (who had hidden when he saw Momma Giant brandishing the umbrella) came out of hiding, and he and Little Sprout joined Momma in the middle of the clearing.
Seeing Momma still tightly clutching her hat, Daddy Giant said maybe we best head for home and have a nice spot of tea (planning to spike his with a little "nip" as quietly as possible) Off they went home.
Now comes the part of how I acquired Mamma Giants hat.
Arriving at home and fixing them all a spot of tea, Momma went to freshen up.
Little Sprout was sipping his spot of tea when they heard a screech coming from the bedroom, Daddy Giant almost spilled the pocket flask he was using to ad a little "sweetnin" to his cup.

Saving the "sweetnin" just before it hit the floor he quickly capped it as Momma Giant came running in saying look at what that horrible crow did to my beautiful hat. Holding it out with just two fingers as if it were a hot potato, she showed them the hat. the crow had tried to decorate his new "nest" with some netting for curtains among the lovely satiny green leaves, and since his feathers were so very deep dark navy blue he had chosen the same color for the netting.. The leaves in the hat were a bit in disarray, and tucked in around the edge of the hat were some of the Crows deep navy blue "feathers" that were not like any feathers that Little Sprout had ever seen before.

Momma Giant cried out. "This is the UGLIEST hat I have ever seen. Little Sprout get it out of my sight far away so that I never have to lay eyes on it again"

Grabbing the hat and running outside, he thought to himself "Now where can I take this Ugly hat to get it as far away from Momma Giant as I can, so that she will never see it again" Then he remembered! Auntie! she will know how to get it far away, she sells on eBay. I can ask her to make sure it goes far far away and never comes back.

So my dear readers, that is the story of Momma Giants green leaf hat came to be here on auction on eBay

Now for little details. The inside lining is a paisley in fall colors, it has two plastic "combs" attached with elastic to help hold it on the head of the wearer. The cap base is a dome shaped hard form covered under the green satiny leaves with a dark navy blue velvet material.
The age is uncertain because Mamma Giant never wanted to give away her age. Lets just say it is very vintage

To keep peace in Little Sprouts home, please take it far away.
